Ticket revenue helps fund public transport
The amount of funding we receive through public subsidies and ticket revenue determines how much public transport service we can provide and purchase from bus operators in Agder. Ticket revenue accounts for approximately one quarter to one third of the annual funding used by Agder Public Transport to provide public transport services.
By purchasing a ticket, you are helping us maintain a good level of public transport services throughout Agder. To ensure that all passengers travel with a valid ticket, we carry out ticket inspections throughout the year. Ticket inspections and penalty fees are regulated by our Terms of Transport.

Ticket inspection fees
You must buy your ticket before boarding, or at the latest when boarding the bus by purchasing a ticket from the driver. It is not permitted to wait and buy a ticket only after spotting ticket inspectors further along the route.
If you are travelling without a valid ticket, the following fees may apply:
- Fee when invoiced: NOK 1,470
- Adults paying on the spot: NOK 1,200
- Persons under 18 years: NOK 1,200
- Forged or fake ticket: NOK 2,600
Attempting to use a screenshot or similar image of a mobile ticket will also result in a fee of NOK 2,600 and may additionally be reported to the police as document fraud.
How to pay the fee
Ticket inspectors can accept payment on the spot using Vipps. If you do not wish or are unable to pay immediately, you will receive a paper invoice with payment information. The payment deadline is 14 days.
Valid ticket during the entire journey
Passengers must have a valid ticket for the whole journey. Your ticket and any documentation required for discounted travel must be kept throughout the trip and shown to the driver or ticket inspector when requested.
Ticket validity
- Single tickets are valid within the purchased zone(s). The final boarding must take place before the ticket expires.
- Single tickets are valid for 90 minutes in the first zone, plus 30 minutes for each additional zone.
- Flexi tickets are valid for 60 minutes after first boarding.
- Period tickets are valid in the purchased zones for the entire validity period.
How ticket inspections are carried out
- Ticket inspections take place throughout Agder on all routes and transport services. Inspections may be carried out both by uniformed and plain-clothes inspectors, who must always be able to identify themselves.
- Passengers travelling without a valid ticket must pay an additional fee. Leaving the bus during an inspection does not exempt a passenger from paying the fee.
- Passengers are required to provide their correct name, address and date of birth.
Travelling with mobile tickets
If you buy tickets for other passengers on your mobile phone, you must travel together so that you can present valid tickets for everyone. This does not apply if tickets are transferred directly to another person’s mobile phone through the app’s sharing functions.
