What is AKT Bedrift?

AKT Bedrift is a mobility scheme aimed at the business travel market in Agder. Currently, it is organized as a separate project with a small number of participating businesses. In the long term, we aim for this to become a general mobility scheme for the entire Agder region. Our goal is to reduce car traffic in urban areas by facilitating more people to walk, cycle, or use public transport to and from work.

How to become an AKT Bedrift company?

We are interested in connecting with private and public sector companies that aim to change travel habits and make commuting greener. The goals and measures we recommend will vary from business to business, but a common objective is to work towards more sustainable transport.

Changing travel habits takes time

From experience, we know that changing to more sustainable transport habits doesn't happen on its own. Therefore, we will collaborate with a number of test participants to understand the barriers they face in adopting more sustainable transport methods. We will use insights from behavior theory and nudging to make it easier for people to choose sustainable transportation to and from work.

But how do we get more people to see the benefits of sustainable transport solutions?

This is one of the key questions we are trying to answer in the project, with the long-term goal of encouraging more people to walk, cycle, carpool, or use public transport.

Is your company eligible for the AKT Bedrift collaboration?

• Has at least 20 employees.
• Has good public transport connections near the company’s location. We define good public transport as having at least 4 departures per hour in or near the workplace during rush hours.
• The company is willing to make changes to the current parking arrangements.
• Employees are willing to try replacing car use with public transport, cycling, and walking to and from work.
