Adjustment of prices

The changes apply to ordinary routes operated on behalf of AKT. In addition, AKT has been allocated NOK 20 million through the state budget, for reduced prices, earmarked for the Kristiansand area. The price adjustment generally focuses on the fact that it is still more profitable to pay the ticket in advance. Period tickets and single tickets can be purchased in AKT Ticket app or on a travel card.

New bus fares – for the whole of Agder

Short summary:

• The cost of a bus trip is calculated based on the number of zones one passes. In Agder, one municipality is considered as one zone.
• Pre-purchased single ticket pays off:
  • On single trips, it is still cheaper to travel on a pre-paid single mobile ticket or "pay as you go-credit", rather than buying a ticket from a driver. 
  • On average, you will receive approximately 40% discount by purchasing the single ticket in AKT Ticket or by using travel money on the travel card, rather than to buy the ticket in cash from the driver.
• Earmarked funds for the Kristiansand area in the state budget:
  • In the state budget for 2024, Kristiansand, along with some other urban areas in Norway, has been allocated NOK 20 million in earmarked funds designated for reduced prices. The price reduction will be focused on Flexicard and 30 day period tickets and will be of indefinite duration.
